"The United States has a great responsibility as leader of the non-communist nations of the world in the struggle against communism," said Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, who was speaking before more than 1000 persons in the new William Chrisman high school auditorium. She was discussing America's role in facing up to world leadership. She was brought to Independence by the Independence  Business & Professional Women's Club.
