  • A dog doesn’t have to be purebred to be a great pet

  • Everyone has their own particular favorite breed of dog or cat for some reason or another. Some will go to great lengths to get a specific breed of dog. I don’t understand that when there are so many mixed breed dogs that need homes. Especially since most mixed breeds are healthier than the pure bred.

  • Everyone has their own particular favorite breed of dog or cat for some reason or another. Some will go to great lengths to get a specific breed of dog. I don’t understand that when there are so many mixed breed dogs that need homes. Especially since most mixed breeds are healthier than the pure bred.
Animals Best Friends has some wonderful mix breed dogs are looking for forever homes. I want to introduce you to two of them.
Bumper is a 6-year-old border collie mix. He is a super sweet guy who is full of life and loves to play. He is very smart and has a great disposition. Bumper would love to have a child or other dog to run and play with then curl up on the couch with his human at night to watch TV. He is the favorite dog of most ABF volunteers. They would love to see Bumper get a fabulous forever home of his very own.
Micah is a 4-year-old Lab husky mix. She is a very sweet and smart girl and would make a great addition to any family. Micah is playful and loving with her caregivers. She is very attached to Bumper and ABF would love to be able to place these two together if possible. Nonetheless, Micah would love to go for walks and hang out with her very own human.
These two great dogs just need someone to give them a chance! If you are interested in either Bumper or Micah, or both, please go to our website at www.animalsbestfriends.org and complete an application. ABF does home visits, two week trials, and will always take the animal back if it doesn’t work out.
Animals Best Friends wish list includes: Purina Dog, Puppy, Cat and Kitten chow, dog and cat treats and chews, cow hooves or rawhides, canned dog and cat food, stuffed (no beads) and Kong toys, laundry detergent, bleach, Fantastic spray, Dawn dish liquid, paper towels, newspapers, 39 gallon trash bags, blankets, sheets, cat litter. There is a paper recycling bin in the parking lot at ABF Headquarters, 2302 S. Crysler Ave., Independence. Please, no cardboard or telephone books. We appreciate your support.
