The metro area is under a freeze warning tonight.

The warning covers most of Missouri and all of the Kansas City area. It’s from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday, when temperatures are expected to drop into the upper 20s, killing crops and tender vegetation, according to the National Weather Service.

Saturday will be about like today, mostly sunny with a high of 50 and calm winds. Saturday night’s low is about 35. After that, it gets slight warmer for several days: a high of 54 Sunday and a low of 34, then 55/37 Monday, 55/38 Tuesday, 58/40 Wednesday. It looks like 60 next Thursday. There will be some clouds over the next few days but no rain.
