Born December 18, 1936, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Marlene graduated from Southern Nazarene University. She retired from the English department in Fort Osage School District, Independence, Missouri. She was a member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene. 

Marlene is preceded in death by her parents Pearl and Olie Forshee, sister, Mary Scott, and brother, Olie Forshee. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Loy Williams; two daughters, Greta Williams, Independence, Anna-Margaret Stigall, Overland Park, Kansas; four grandchildren, Baird and Hannah Williams, Jacqueline and Lauren Stigall; two sisters Evelyn Carr, Shreveport, Louisiana and Peggy Mervine, Easton, Maryland.

Funeral arrangements include visitation, 1 p.m. and service, 2 p.m., Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Independence, Missouri, Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 19800 E Truman Road, 816-796-2750, Pastor Wayne Nelson, officiating.  Condolences may be expressed at www.speakschapel.com.
