The city council has just retired $10,000 of the bonded indebtedness of the city. Of this, $5,000 is electric light extension and the rest sewer extension bonds. In 1906, the council issued and sold bonds for each, the purpose of making extensions to the electric light system and an equal amount for sewer extension. The bonds paid might have run for several years more had the city so desired or had its financial condition made it necessary. On the contrary, they were paid at the earliest possible moment.
