    The Falcons claimed both the boys and girls Suburban Middle Seven cross country titles Thursday at Osage Trail Middle School. Fort Osage was fourth in both races.
    Staley totaled 34 points in the boys race, followed by Oak Park (80), Belton (85), Fort Osage (96), North Kansas City (116) and William Chrisman (118). Raytown fielded an incomplete team.
    In the boys race, Staley totaled 22 points, Oak Park 51, North Kansas City 80 and Fort Osage 82. Belton, Raytown and William Chrisman had incomplete teams.
    Oak Park’s Liban Samatar was the boys individual winner in 16 minutes, 13 seconds.
    Chrisman’s Tristan Laughlin placed third in 18:18.43. The next Chrisman finisher was Enoch Bukovac, who was 25th in 18:04.
    Oak Park’s Megan Greener was the girls winner in 19:32.
    Freshman Elizabeth Straub, who captured the Independence City Championship title two weeks ago, was the only Chrisman runner and placed eighth in 20:08.
    Fort Osage was led by Kelsey Robertson’s 17th-place finish in 21:22.0.
    The Fort Osage boys team was paced by Cody Hanes’ sixth-place finish in 16:44.90. Another top-20 Fort Osage finisher was Alex Stephens, who was 15th in 17:23.41.
    “As a team, we hoped to finish a couple of spots higher, but the boys and girls both are dealing with some injuries right now,” said Fort Osage coach Chris Earley. “We had several compete today who will need a few more days to rest to get their bodies healthy. Both Kelsey Robertson for the girls and Cody Hanes for the boys were our lead runners. Both had outstanding races and will be looking forward to districts in two weeks.”
