Jared Ginter went 3-for-4 with an RBI and C.J. Egelston drove in three runs for Fike. Chad Worman tossed seven innings and struck out five to pick up the win.

Fike tallied three runs in the first, tacked on another in the fourth and added four more in the sixth.

BLUE SPRINGS A’S 3-12, POST 21 0-1: The Blue Springs Rod’s Sports A’s started the American Legion baseball season with a pair of stellar wins over Independence Post 21 Tuesday at the Independence Athletic Complex.

The A’s scored three runs in the seventh in the first half of a doubleheader to earn a victory and followed with an 11-run drubbing in the second game.

Jay Corwin worked a complete game in the first contest to earn the victory while Corbin Hare notched the win in the second game with another seven-inning effort.

David Stober stroked a pair of singles in each game for the A’s and Hare connected on a single and double in the second game.
