Kenneth E. Homan Sr., 82, passed away peacefully at home in Lees’ Summit, Mo., on March 22, 2010.

Kenneth E. Homan Sr., 82, passed away peacefully at home in Lees’ Summit, Mo., on March 22, 2010.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. and funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010, at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Chapel with burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Coventry Estates Baptist Church in Independence, Mo., of which Kenny was a member. 

Kenny was born August 3, 1927, in Independence, Mo.  He served his country in the Army. 

Along with his two brothers, James and Bill, Kenny started the Homan Steel Company in 1963, in Kansas City, Mo. 

He sold and delivered steel mostly in the Lake of the Ozarks area.  Kenny continued to buy and sell up to the very end.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lucille; sisters, Martha Bell, Anna Nell, Barb, and a brother, Bill. 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bobbie; son Ken Jr., daughter, Susan Ceperley and husband Mark; a brother, James; sisters, Dona and Pat; 6 grandchildren, Amy, Emily, Justin, Devin, Derek, Drake; three great-grandchildren, Micah, Elijah and Bella and numerous relatives and dear friends.
