Barstow was too much for the Lee’s Summit North girls tennis team.

Five singles wins set up an easy 7-2 Barstow victory over the host Broncos Wednesday

“Barstow was just way too good at the top of the lineup with state level players at No. 1 and No. 2,” North coach Stuart Reece said. “The rest of our girls really fought to stay in the match, but just couldn’t hit that one key shot they needed.

“Overall, a good effort but I think we can be a lot better as the season continues.”

Christina Leeper in singles and the doubles team of Kadi Severson and Ashton Pohlman by injury default were the only winners for North (1-1).

Barstow was a 6-3 junior varsity winner.
