Roland Frederick “Rick” Foster, 78, Independence, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Burial will follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery with Military Honors.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Rick was born February 5, 1933, in Elyria, OH, the son of Robert Joseph and Alice Maybelle (Fell) Foster. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran during the Korean War. Rick retired from Dit-Mco International. He was a lifelong resident in the Independence area and spent the past 5 years in the Van Buren area.

Rick was preceded in death by his son, Raymond F. Foster; sister, Roberta Yost and his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife, Evelyn Foster, of 52 years; daughters, Lori LaRoche and husband, Tim, Leslie Luther and her companion, Dick Minks; son, Richard Foster and wife, Dawn; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Norma “Pat” Smith; brother, Bruce Foster and wife, Joan; and numerous nieces, nephews and family.
