The Missouri Comets will play their first home game of the 2011-12 season at 7:35 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the Independence Events Center against Wichita.

The two Major Indoor Soccer League teams will kick off the new campaign the night before at Wichita’s Hartman Arena.

The MISL will feature eight teams and two divisions this season. Joining the Comets and Wichita Wings in the Central Division will be Chicago and Milwaukee.

Baltimore, Rochester, Syracuse and Norfolk will make up the Eastern Division.

The 2011-12 MISL regular season will feature 24 games, with each team playing 16 games within its own division. The Comets will play six games against their nearest geographic rival and five games each against the other two teams. They’ll also play each team in the other division once at home and once on the road.

The MISL playoffs will begin with the semifinals March 9-11, featuring the top two teams from each division meeting in a home-and-home series. If needed, each team will play a mini-game following the second game.

The championship will follow the same format on March 16-18. The higher seed will choose which game it hosts.

The rest of the MISL schedule will be announced soon.
