Blue Springs South opened the 2011 football season with an impressive win.

The host Jaguars scored two second-quarter touchdowns and went on to a 29-0 victory over Raytown South Friday night.

Connor Harris completed 8 of 19 passes for 98 yards and scored one touchdown to spark the Jaguars. He also kicked an extra point and kicked three field goals.

Trey Ervin also played a big role in the victory by rushing 10 times for 126 yards and two touchdowns. His longest run was 41 yards. The Jaguars totaled 245 yards on the ground.

South sealed the victory with two fourth-quarter touchdowns.

South also opened the 2010 season with a 49-7 victory over the Cardinals. Both teams went on to qualify for the playoffs.

South will host Park Hill South next Friday night.
