    There’s a ribbon cutting today for DataPros, a business in Blue Springs.
    It’s at 9:15 a.m. at the company, 1200 N.W. South Outer Road, Suite 116.
    There’s an app for Independence
    The Independence Chamber of Commerce 2013 LEAD class is set to unveil its class project, an Independence app.
    That takes place at today’s chamber luncheon at noon at Ophelia’s restaurant at Main and Maple on the Square. The chamber is at 816-252-4745.
    Marketing ideas offered in seminar
    The Independence Chamber of Commerce has marketing suggestions next week as part of its monthly Small Business Continuing Education Series.
    “Marketing Your Business Without Going Broke” is offered three times – 7:30 a.m., noon, 5:30 p.m. – next Tuesday at the chamber’s offices at 210 W. Truman Road. Marketing experts Lori Worth and Marjie Foster lead the discussion. The event lasts 90 minutes.
    It’s free for chamber members, but reservations are required.
