According to police, the clerks at Discount Liquor, 601 S.W. Missouri 7, Everyday Conoco, 2401 N.W. Missouri 7, and Little General, 1017 N.W. Woods Chapel Road, asked for the under aged purchaser's identification, which showed he was 18 years old and then continued the alcoholic beverage sale.

All three clerks were issued a criminal summons for violating Blue Springs, Missouri Municipal Code

Members of the Blue Springs Police Department used an 18-year-old male in the attempt to purchase alcoholic beverages from 25 businesses that have current liquor licenses with the city of Blue Springs.

The teenager was instructed to produce his actual Missouri driver’s license showing that he was under the legal alcohol purchasing age of 21 years old.  He further was instructed to tell the store employees that he was 18 years old if they inquired.
