Paul Ray Tweedy passed away Sunday, November 22, 2009, in Canadian, Oklahoma. He was 63 years old.

Paul Ray Tweedy passed away Sunday, November 22, 2009, in Canadian, Oklahoma. He was 63 years old.

He was born on August 15, 1946, to Virgil and Mabel Tweedy in Independence, Mo. Paul was a truck driver and served with the Missouri National Guard.

He is survived by a son, John Paul Tweedy of Independence, Mo.; a daughter, Stephanie Marie Stoddard of Gautier, Mississippi; one granddaughter, Krystena Marie Stoddard of Gautier, Mississippi; three sisters, Edith Tweedy of Olathe, Colorado, Joyce Mueller of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Pauline Dunn of Olathe, Colorado; two brothers, Donald Eugene Tweedy of Pleasant Hill, Mo., and Vernon Tweedy of Independence, Mo.; one aunt, Virginia Pearce of Odessa, Mo.; a nephew, Neil Tweedy and his wife Tammy of Canadian, Oklahoma; and many other nieces and nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his former wife, Myrna Tweedy.

Paul is preceded in death by his father, Virgil Tweedy; mother, Mabel Tweedy; three sisters, Elvira, Mary and Darlene Tweedy; and two brothers, Elmer and William Tweedy.

Services will be held Saturday, November 28, at the Mission Woods Community of Christ Church at 3 pm. Visitation will follow. The family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society and Hospice.
