A book about the American presidents, written by Kathy Giangreco, an American history teacher at Bernard Campbell Middle School in Lee’s Summit is in its second edition. The book, entitled “The American President: A Complete History,” was released in 2007.

The book, entitled “The American President: A Complete History,” was released in 2007 by Barnes and Noble and is featured on Barnes and Noble’s Web site. Giangreco writes under her maiden name, Kathryn Moore, and “The American President” has been called “the most authoritative and readable single-volume reference work of its kind.”

Monthly features highlight certain aspects of the presidents and first ladies. For example, the September feature discusses how various presidents performed when they were students. Upcoming features include a spotlight on Theodore Roosevelt and Christmas at the White House. 

Giangreco has written several other books, including “Dear Harry – Truman’s Mailroom, 1945-1953: The Truman Administration Through Correspondence with ‘Everyday Americans’,” which she co-wrote with her husband, D.M. Giangreco and “Eyewitness D-Day.”

Giangreco and her husband will signs books from  7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Barnes and Noble in Leawood, Kan.
