  • Just like Oprah, Mary has her favorite things!
Now that Oprah is out of the way (just kidding), I figured I could steal her “favorites” idea. So I wanted to tell you all about my favorite things, but my list is ever changing, so here is my list right now, for fall. They are all things found in a salon or spa, of course (or, as my eleven year old would say, “Well, duh!”). These are my favorite things for all hair and skin types, not just mine. See what I mean?
    For your hair:
Bassu Oil by Surface – This is an oil very similar to all the Moroccan mineral oils you see and hear about, but I like it best. It contains Babassu and Argan oils, which are deep penetrating oils that soften the hair and add so much shine. It is amazing. You apply it to damp hair and blow dry with it. It even reduces drying time. It works even better if you add the heat of an iron to it. You can use a bit after your hair is dry, too. I use this on EVERYONE!
Creamy Pomade by Enjoy – This is a light, fluffy pomade that I use mostly after a style is dry to define the cut and separate the hair while adding loads of shine. It works great on most hair types, but use in moderation on really fine hair.
Shine Flash glistening mist by Redken – This fine-mist aerosol spray illuminates hair with brilliant sheen and a silky feel. According to Redkin, a “ ... weightless formula gives a light, clean application to all hair types.” They are right on the mark with this description. It is to be used at the end of your styling process to finish with a sparkle!
While there are tons of awesome products available, these are my must have and go to styling aids – this fall, at least.
I love, love, love to try new products out, and I love even more to know the background to how and why they are made, which is why they work so well if used correctly. So give this some thought, and next week I will offer us my favorites for skin!
