During the Raytown High School varsity boys’ soccer game Oct. 23, the team announced that they had raised $350 for cancer research.
The players, along with parents, friends, high school staff and community members, celebrated their efforts and honored loves ones affected by cancer during the half-time show by releasing a pink balloon on which they wrote the name of the loved one. The balloons were then released into the air. The release symbolized how their thoughts, hopes, research and prayers, lift up their loved ones.
