Alton Lee Abramson, 83, died Saturday, February 20, 2010. 

Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Lee’s Summit Community Church at 1440 SW Jefferson, Lee’s Summit, MO.  Graveside service to follow.

“Lee” Abramson was born in Yakima, Washington on June 11, 1926.  Lee and his siblings, Al, Jim, Anita, Louise, Bob and Darlene, were raised in Washington. 

He graduated from West Valley High School in Spokane and then immediately enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific during World War II. 

He was honorably discharged in 1944 and married Betty May Troy in September 1946.  Lee and Betty had three children, Gary, David, and Chris.  Lee worked as a stone mason, fireman, policeman, and later was ordained a minister for the RLDS church in 1960.  He served as a traveling minister in many states and lived in Nebraska, Iowa, Maine, Canada, Missouri and Oklahoma before retiring in 1982.  He completed his Bachelor of Arts from Park College.  Post retirement, he managed a 10,0000-acre cattle ranch in northern Texas.  They subsequently moved back to Spokane, Washington in 1987 to be with family and he sold real estate for 3 years.  Later on, Lee and Betty moved to Lone Jack, Missouri; Pickens, South Carolina; and eventually Amarillo, Texas. He served in part-time ministry the remainder of his life.  Lee died at the age of 83 in the VA hospital in Amarillo on February 20, 2010 after a lengthy illness. 

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Betty Abramson, his three children, 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
