Eldon Allen Williams, 82, Independence, MO passed away on Wednesday November 26, 2008 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO, following an illness of a few weeks.

Eldon Allen Williams, 82, Independence, MO passed away on Wednesday November 26, 2008 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO, following an illness of a few weeks.

He was born December 5, 1925, in Vernon County, MO to Elbert Bryon Williams and Thelma Fergus Williams. He married Betty Mooney on October 8, 1949, in Kansas City, MO and she survives of the home.

Eldon was born in Vernon County and spent most of his adult life in the Kansas City area. He made his living as an over-the-road truck driver. He was a member of the Teamster’s Local #722 and #710. Eldon loved to travel and loved his family very much.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Marsha Williams, and three brothers, Ernest, Eugene, and Charles Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Betty of the home; two sons, Glen Williams and his wife Chris of Prince George, VA, Robert Williams and his wife Dawn of Midlothian, IL; one daughter, Sharon Kay Lee; four grandsons, three great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter, and numerous other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2008 at Shiloh Cemetery in Barton County, MO with Richard Wood officiating.
