Lovisa Carol Freytag transcended to Heaven with peace and dignity at her Greenville cottage on December 25, 2011 with her ever-present and loving daughters at her side.  Although with a deep sense of loss, we celebrate her wonderful life on earth and the great joy and love she so generously shared with those she encountered.  She even blessed us with a final smile, as she had promised, upon leaving us behind and greeting her new Eternal Life.

Lovi, the daughter of Lila Mae and Phineas Walsh, was born in Lakefield Township, Michigan November 23, 1933 and was married to her predeceased husband Herman J. Freytag for 51 years.  A devoted wife and mother, she also served compassionately so many others as a registered nurse.  Following retirement she actively volunteered and relished in being an avid cook and crafts specialist.  Never afraid to laugh at herself, she leaves a legacy of giggles and “loviisms” as memories for her family and friends.  Committed to a love for God, her spirit overflowed with a contagious joy and love reflecting her positive approach to living a blessed and fulfilled life.

Lovisa is survived by her three daughters: Lori G. Bateman of Decatur, Alabama, Lisa C.  Ferrell of Grain Valley, Missouri and Jodi L. Drury of Greer; a sister Gail White and brothers Jay and Marty Walsh in Michigan, and extended family Norma and Jim Haney of Missouri; grandchildren Josh and Joy Bateman and Heather Jo and Dusty Ferrell; two great grandchildren Ben and Sam.

There will be no formal services at the request of the deceased.

Memorials are requested to be of the nature of spreading joy and love through heart-felt deeds of random kindness.
