The last stop on the Missouri Comets December East Coast tour is at 6:30 p.m. today, when the Major Indoor Soccer League team visits the Syracuse Silver Knights.

The two teams met three weeks ago and the Comets came away with a convincing 23-10 victory.

“The guys have been practicing hard this week,” Comets goalkeeper Danny Waltman said. “We know that if we play up to our potential we could do something special this year.”

Despite the lopsided score in their last matchup with the Comets, Waltman said the Silver Knights cannot be taken lightly.

Forward Slavisa Ubiparapovic is third in the league with 32 points and defenders Ryan Pierce and Nelson Santana lead the league in defensive blocks.

The Comets are 7-4 and will be home next Wednesday when they play host to arch-rival Wichita in a 7:35 p.m. game at the Independence Events Center. It’s Media Night, where members of the metro area media corps will participate in a game at halftime.
