All families participating will receive a certificate, a hardcover book and an entry into the drawing for the special prize upon completion of their reading log. A maximum of one book may be earned by each family.

RAFT Guidelines

1. All families participating will receive a certificate, a hardcover book and an entry into the drawing for the special prize upon completion of their reading log. A maximum of one book may be earned by each family. Each family will also earn an entry into the drawing for the special prize for each additional reading log completed.

2. ONLY Mid-Continent Public Library books checked out on or after Jan. 19 are eligible.

3. Lists should be returned to the issuing library branch by a member of the participating family. Participation is limited to one branch only.

4. Families of all types are encouraged to participate by reading chapter books appropriate for the entire family. All members of the family are invited to participate in both reading aloud and listening.

5. For completion of a list, families need to read aloud together three chapter books of any length.

6. Program began Jan. 19 and ends March 31.

What? RAFT stands for Reading Aloud Family Time. It is a literacy program where families read three multi-chapter books aloud together.

Where? Reading logs are available at the front desk of local Mid-Continent Public Library branches.

When? The program runs through March 31.

Why? When families turn in their completed logs after reading three multi-chapter books they receive a certificate, hardcover copy of “Swiss Family Robinson” and are entered to win a DVD of the film adaptation of “Swiss Family Robinson.”
