1 What is your position at Alissa’s Flowers and how long have you been there?
I am the owner of Alissa’s Flowers & Interiors. I grew up along side my mother Alissa and began my career with the company in floral delivery.

2 Briefly describe the business, the services offered and tell us how long Alissa’s has been in business in Independence.
Alissa’s Flowers was established in 1976. We began the journey as a full-line floral and gift shop and have recently grown to include a full service interior design center.

3 The company was hired to provide interior decorating for the remodeled American Inn at I-70 and Noland Road. How did that come about and what did you guys do for that business in terms of interior decoration?
American Inn officers are existing floral and Christmas decorating clients. We did a complete interior remodel, color, flooring, cabinetry, lighting, accessories and art work for the lobby and adjoining rooms.

4 In these tough economic times, what are some of the marketing plans you guys are using to keep business steady?
Becoming more involved with Chamber of Commerce, networking, reward card and referral programs, monthly drawings and offering new lines of economically fun and friendly merchandise.

5 We love your tagline “It’s a green day at Alissa’s.” What does that mean exactly?
Alissa’s has made a decision to be a  part of the solution of preserving the earth and her people by “going green” with our merchandise and thinking.
