  • An Independence couple told KMBC-TV news that a bullet hit their home Thursday night, piercing two walls.
Dennis and Dorthy Myers told The Examiner’s news partner that the bullet knocked a picture frame off a wall and lodged in a kitchen wall about 10:45 p.m. after they had gone to bed.
Neither was hurt. Police told the Myerses that the bullet appeared to come from a high-powered rifle by someone in a nearby wooded area, according to KMBC.
