  • The Missouri Mavericks have renewed their affiliation for the 2013-14 season with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League, the team announced today.
The agreement allows Mavericks players to compete in the Chicago Wolves’ training camp, and it also allows for a limited number of players to be signed to two-way contracts between the Mavericks and the Wolves. Mavericks coach Scott Hillman will also attend the Wolves training camp in Chicago. The Wolves are now the primary affiliate of the National Hockey League's St. Louis Blues after being an affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks from 2011 to 2013 and the Atlanta Thrashers from 2001 to 2011.
“In addition to providing us the opportunity to work with some of the best young talented hockey players in the CHL, the affiliation with the Chicago Wolves and the close relationship we have shared over the past few seasons has provided me great opportunities to learn and improve as a head coach,” Hillman said in a press release.  “Working with general manager Wendell Young and his staff in Chicago is a valuable experience and I look forward to being on the ice with them in September during their training camp with some of our top prospects.”
The agreement also allows Chicago to loan players to the Mavericks and for Mavericks players to be called up to the Wolves, who have won the AHL’s Calder Cup championship in 2002 and 2008.
