To the editor:

What Pastor Redmen said made sense. The people of Levasy need railroad crossings and none of them need closed, especially the one at Schuster Road. What the railroad is proposing is equivalent to New Orleans and Hurricane Katrina.

The city of Levasy and Jackson County need to realize that public safety is first, even over the railroads’ desires.

The new Fort Osage Museum only has one entrance. The railroad took the second entrance away years ago and didn’t replace it as was promised then. A fire or flood would devastate Sibley and Levasy, as the railroad would cause a total block of the residential and livestock in an evacuation of the area.
