The Animal Shelter is at capacity with its cat population, so the first 22 adoptions Friday are free.

Despite reduced adoption fees, the Independence Animal Shelter didn’t do a single cat adoption on Thursday.

The Animal Shelter is at capacity with its cat population, so the first 22 adoptions Friday are free. After that, adoption fees will be reduced $20 on other cats.

Adoption fees will range from $29 to $79 and include spay/neuter, feline leukemia and FIV tests, rabies vaccinations and microchips.

The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for adoptions at 875 S. Vista Ave.
