A Blue Springs man pleaded not guilty this week to murdering and abusing a 12-month-old boy.Two juveniles have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a string of thefts in Blue Springs.

Blue Springs police arrested two minors early Thursday morning, according to a press released issued by Troy Pharr, public information office for the department.

The two minors are believed to have been the cause of several thefts from autos in the area of 6th and Parkwood Drive.

Officers responded at 2:30 a.m. Thursday to a report of another car being broken into. Responding to the area, the officers noticed what appeared to be a vehicle that had recently been broken into,

An area check turned up a vehicle occupied with two persons, according to Pharr. The officer observed alcohol in plain view inside the vehicle and arrested the suspects as minors in possession of alcohol.

A subsequent search revealed 65 suspected stolen items, including gaming systems, DVD’s, jewelry, wallets, pieces of identification and cell phones — all items reported stolen by area residents.

Pharr said the vehicle in which the two suspects were found appears to have been used in another theft incident that occurred in Grain Valley.
