Blue Springs Post 499/Fike took the tough and easy ways to launch Zone 2 East play.

Fike scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning for an 8-4 victory and then followed with a 12-0 decision in sweeping two games from Sedalia Post 642 (1-5, 0-2) Tuesday night.

Sedalia scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth for a 4-2 lead in the first game. Fike rallied to tie the score in the seventh and blew open the game in the eighth.

Daulton Engman had three hits and Reece Eddings three RBIs to power Fike. Cody Cloughley was the winning pitcher in relief of starter Mowgs Taylor.

Chad Worman pitched a five-inning one-hitter with two strikeouts in the 12-0 rout. Jared Ginter, Dylan Farrell and C.J. Egelston each had two hits. Egelston had three RBIs and Ginter two. Fike (7-2, 2-0) scored eight runs in the second inning and four in the fourth.

“It was good to get two wins to start the league season,” Fike manager Jim Moran said. “I was really happy with the first game.”
