A secondhand retailer has established a program designed to be eco-friendly by providing re-used fashions and home furnishings that otherwise might have ended up in landfills.

The local Savers store is at 4466 S. Noland Road, Independence. Savers stores are located across the continent, preventing about 280 million pounds of goods from being thrown away while paying more than $117 million annually to several non-profit organizations.
