The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday announced it is teaming with law enforcement agencies Thursday for an aggressive “Click It or Ticket  mobilization” to zero in on seat-belt violators to reduce highway fatalities.

In 2008 in Missouri, 489 people killed in traffic crashes were not wearing seat belts. Seven of 10 Missourians killed in traffic crashes are unbuckled, according to the sheriff’s office.
“Every day, someone dies in a crash in Missouri because they were not buckled up,” said Sheriff Mike Sharp.
