Ralph D. Willis, Carrollton, Mo., formally of Independence, Mo., died July 25, 2009.

Mr. Willis was a native of the KC area, but had also lived several years in the Chicago and Cincinnati areas. He served 9 years in the US Naval Reserve. He was employed by Montgomery Ward & Co, where he worked 39 years in the catalog division. Ralph had been Merchandise Manager of this six-state area. He opened the new Cincinnati, OH catalog house in 1980 as Merchandise Manager, serving 11 states. Ralph twice held management positions in the Chicago Corporate HQ where he retired in 1986. Upon retirement, he sold Real Estate for Century 21 in the Chicago area before returning to KC area again in 1988. Ralph had also been employed by the EPA regional HQ in KC, KS. He was a member of the KC, MO Chamber. Ralph was a Master Mason and Chaplain of the Raytown Masonic Lodge #391 A.F. & A.M., and held a 32nd degree in the Scottish Rite. He was a Decon for the 1st Presbyterian Church of Independence, Mo. Survivors include: son & daughter in law, Mark & Linda Willis, Carrollton, MO; daughter, Karen Willis, Lakewood, CO; sister, Beulah Cunningham, Independence, Mo.; step grandchildren, Jeremy & Jessica Harper, KC, MO, Melinda Castor, Carrollton, MO; great grandsons, Shadren Castor & Jamison Dunn.

Visitation will be held 6-7:30 p.m., Friday, July 31, 2009 at Missouri Funeral Care, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Mo. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Home of Missouri, & Carroll House Activity Fund, Carrollton, Mo. arr. Missouri Funeral Care, 816-353-1700.
