  • The fifth annual Robert E. Tindall Scholarship art show and sale is taking place now through March 28 at George Owens Nature Park in Independence.
"Art in Park," presented by the Independence Art Association Inc. and Independence Parks and Recreation, is a free event featuring an original painting by Robert E. Tindall.
Tindall, who was born in 1913 and died in 1983, was a charter member of the Community Art Association of Independence, which later changed its name to the Independence Art Association Inc.
Commemorative giclee prints of a Tindall painting, as well as Independence Art Association artist works and prints, will be available for sale during a reception from 1 to 4 p.m. March 23. Proceeds from the Tindall prints go into the scholarship funds.
