  • The Lee’s Summit North and Lee’s Summit West girls soccer teams are joining forces again this year to help in the fight against breast cancer.
The teams will host their annual “Pink Out” game April 15 at the Lee’s Summit West Soccer Complex.
The C-team game begins at 3:30 p.m. with junior varsity at 5 p.m. The varsity game begins at 6:30 p.m. Free admission will be given to fans wearing a 2013 “Pink Out” T-shirt, available for $10 from any Lee’s Summit West or Lee’s Summit North soccer player. Everyone attending the game is also encouraged to wear pink.
Proceeds from the event go to the local Susan G. Komen for the Cure, an organization supporting breast cancer education, screening, research and treatment.
“Pink Out” includes a silent auction, balloon release, guest speaker, local sports celebrities and special half-time entertainment. Purchases made at the concession stand, photo booth or any of the local vendor booths will also help support the fundraising effort.
Last year’s Lee’s Summit “Pink Out” raised $10,000 with the help of the community and local businesses.
