  • Lola is looking for loving humans

I want to tell you about the big garage sale that is coming up this weekend. ABF has two garage sales each year, one in the spring and the second in the fall. The spring garage sale is scheduled for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the National Guard Armory, 2323 S. Crysler Ave., Independence. Net proceeds from the sale benefit the homeless animals at Animals Best Friends. All people who work the sale are volunteers.
If you're looking for a dog for your family, ABF has a variety of dogs looking for good homes. I am one of those kids. Right now I'm about 25 pounds and will likely weigh 50 pounds or more when I'm fully grown. However, I am a Lab and I hear that is a good thing; something about being good with kids and sweet natured. All I know is that I really like everyone, dogs, cats, kids and adults. I love to have fun and clown around. Who knows, with some training and lots of love I could be the perfect family dog!
Please come to our garage sale and support ABF kids like me. We depend on donations to keep our organization going.
If you are looking for a great family dog and think I may be a good fit, go to our website at www.animalsbestfriends.org and complete an application. I would love to meet you!
Animals Best Friends wish list includes: Purina Dog, Puppy, Cat and Kitten chow, dog and cat treats and chews, cow hooves or rawhides, canned dog and cat food, stuffed (no beads) and Kong toys, laundry detergent, bleach, Fantastic spray, Dawn dish liquid, paper towels, newspapers, 39 gallon trash bags, blankets, sheets, cat litter. There is a paper recycling bin in the parking lot at ABF Headquarters, 2302 S. Crysler Ave., Independence. Please, no cardboard or telephone books. We appreciate your support.
