Ordinances Approved

Enacting several sections of the Jackson County Code relating to the issuance of permits for the seasonal retail sales by non-profit organizations and wholesale distributors of consumer fireworks. This would allow four wholesalers and nine non-profits to be eligible.


Resolutions passed

Congratulating the Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce upon its receipt of the 2008 Missouri Chamber of the Year award. A framed certificate was presented by Legislator Bob Spence at Monday’s legislative meeting to officials with the chamber.


Resolutions Introduced

 Authorizing the payment of $332,548 to the city of Blue Springs from the Blue Springs CURS account to reimburse the city for various road projects. Authorizing the county executive to enter into an agreement with the National Center for Fathering to provide training sessions for clients of the prosecuting attorney’s office at a cost to the county not to exceed $25,000. Transferring $51,441 within the 2009 general fund to cover the costs of salaries within the Jackson County Election Board.  Rescinding a June 2008 resolution and nominating candidates for appointment to the Jackson County Sports Authority. The Legislature welcomes people to submit names to the city clerk by Thursday so the governing body to appoint the new panel.
