  • The Blue Springs wrestling team made it to the finals of Saturday’s Staley Duals Tournament, but the Wildcats couldn’t get past the host squad as they fell 45-33 to the Falcons.
    In the championship round, six Blue Springs wrestlers picked up victories. Daniel Lewis (138 pounds), Darick Lapaglia (145) and Michael Pixley (182) won by pin, while Loren Vasquez (170) earned a 6-3 decision. Joe King won by forfeit at 126 and Jamie Foutz came out on top at 195 when his opponent was injured.
    TRUMAN TOURNAMENT: Fort Osage’s Jeremiah Reynolds (106) and Bryce Braughton (145) and Truman’s Kurt Kaiser (126) notched first-place finishes in Saturday’s tourney at Truman.
    Carter Behler (113), Kyle Larson (126) also earned second-place tallies for the Indians, while Truman’s Kyle White was runner-up in the 220-pound bracket.
    BISHOP MIEGE TOURNAMENT: St. Mary’s finished ninth Saturday while 152-pounder Daniel Florido went 2-1 for a second-place mark. Sawyer Meese (285) went 2-1 to finish third and Hunter Soule (220) went 2-2 to take fourth.
