Heavy rains could be the source of why a pickup truck smashed into a guard rail on Interstate 70 early Saturday morning.

The truck went into the guard rail on westbound I-70 near the Noland Road exit around 2 a.m., according to a report on KMBC.com, a news partner of The Examiner.

The report said heavy rain poured at the time of the crash.

Law enforcement had to shut down a part of the highway for nearly an hour so they could remove the truck from the incident site, according to the report.

Officers had no information about the condition or name of the driver.
