  • The Lee’s Summit West boys basketball team rolled on at Truman’s expense Friday night.
The host Titans, ranked fifth in Class 5, overcame a 28-26 halftime deficit for a 61-50 Suburban Middle Six victory over the Patriots Friday night.
West remained undefeated in the conference at 6-0 and improved to 18-2 overall. Truman fell to 12-9 and 2-4.
Lane Titus fired in 18 points to pace Truman. Dewayne Thornton added 13 and Zach Huber had 10 for the Patriots.
LEE’S SUMMIT NORTH 58, LEE’S SUMMIT 33: The host Broncos raced to a 29-7 halftime lead and went on to an easy Suburban Big Six victory Friday night.
Devin Woods scored 18 points and Richard Chapman contributed 15 to power the Broncos (15-5, 5-1), who remained a game behind first-place Blue Springs South.
Drew Lock scored 15 points to lead the Tigers (8-12, 2-4).
OAK GROVE 54, HARRISONVILLE 46: Oak Grove remained on a late-season roll by defeating visiting Harrisonville in a Missouri River Valley Conference West game Friday night.
Cole Doherty poured in 18 points, Jordan Douglas added 13 and Tanner Kanak chipped in with 12 as the Panthers (14-6, 4-2) won their fourth in a row.
Oak Grove owned a 26-25 halftime lead.
Erika Nelson’s big night and a strong night at the free-throw line and on the glass helped Lee’s Summit North hold off rival Lee’s Summit 50-49 Thursday night.
Nelson fired in a season-high 27 points as the Broncos shot 15 of 17 from the line to improve to 13-6 overall and 4-2 in Suburban Big Six play.
“We made 15 of 17 from the line and that’s the bottom line,” Broncos coach Tricia Lillygren said. “We missed a ton of shots, and we were getting all the looks we needed, but we outrebounded them by 10 (27-17), so the girls did those things to help themselves win.”
Trailing 31-26 entering the final period, Lee’s Summit sank four 3-pointers in the fourth and tied it at one point. But North hit a free throw for a four-point lead that made the Tigers’ final trey at the buzzer meaningless.
Imani Johnson added 13 points for North.
HARRISONVILLE 38, OAK GROVE 29: The host Panthers outscored Harrisonville in the second half Thursday despite a scoreless third quarter, but that wasn’t enough to pull out the Missouri River Valley Conference West victory.
Jordyn Anspach led Oak Grove (5-14, 1-6) with nine points and Sophie Jo Whitehead added six.
