  • Betty Louise Anderson, age 86, of Longmont, Colo., died January 28, 2013, at The Bridge of Longmont.  
    Betty was born January 26, 1927 in Flint, Michigan, to Arthur A. and Myrtle (Dunlap) Sears. Betty married Robert M. Anderson in Flint, Michigan, who died in 1997. Betty was a sales associate for J.C. Penney during her working life and retired in 1989. Robert and Betty moved to Longmont in 1970. Betty was a very active member of her church, Community of Christ in Longmont, Colo. During World War II, Betty’s contribution to the war effort was working the night shift packing bullets. Some of her hobbies include sewing, singing and reading. She also served her church as a Sunday school teacher and a girl’s leader. Betty also held the office of Priest in her church. Betty was a loving mother who will be missed by family and friends.   Robert and Betty taught their children that all people were important.  They were very proud of the fact that their children dedicated their lives to serving others. One daughter worked as a registered nurse, two daughters were special education teachers and their son is a social worker.
    Survivors include on son, Robert Arthur Anderson (Irina) of Minneapolis, Minn., three daughters, Kathryn L. Millner (Charles) of Loveland, Colo., Nancy L. Vargas (Jesse) of Saratoga, Wyo., and Elizabeth G. Christian (Steve) of Longmont, Colo. Betty is survived by eight grandchildren, Matthew Millner (Melissa) of Centennial, Colo., and Nathan Millner of Fort Collins, Colo., Luke Vargas of Saratoga, Wyo., Jessica Christian of Longmont, Colo., Zachary Christian (Abby) of Longmont, Colo., Ian Anderson of Des Moines, Iowa, Misha Schoolova of San Diego, Calif., and Sasha Schoolova of Minneapolis, Minn. A great-granddaughter McClellan Millner of Centennial, Colo., also survives. Two siblings survive Betty, brother Gordon Sears and sister Mary Choate (Ed) both of Independence, Mo., in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
    Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert and one sister, Nancy Raveil who died of cancer.
    Memorial services were Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Howe Mortuary Chapel. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to Outreach International in care of Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman Street in Longmont, Colorado 80501.
