The following is a list lunches being served at area community centers for the week beginning June 2.
Palmer Center –
Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. Suggested donation, $2. You may reserve a meal up to three days in advance. To make or cancel your reservation, 816-325-6200.
Monday: Baked ham, yam patties, spinach, corn bread, citrus salad.
Tuesday: Liver and onions/gravy, O’Brien potatoes, California mixed vegetables, wheat roll, yellow cake/glaze icing.
Wednesday: Taco salad/refried beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato, unsalted chips, pineapple tidbits.
Thursday: Baked breaded fish/cheese, broccoli/rice casserole, green beans, potato bread, mandarin oranges.
Friday: Diced chicken stew, tossed salad/ranch dressing, corn bread, citrus fruit cup.
Center – Independence
Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. Suggested donation, $2 for seniors and those on disability, $3.25 for all others. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance, 816-254-8334.
Monday: Seasoned chicken breast, rice/broccoli casserole, fruit cup, cookie.
Wednesday: Scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, hash brown potatoes, biscuit/gravy, applesauce.
Friday: Barbecue beef sandwich, baked beans, potato salad, corn, raspberry sherbet.
Vesper Hall – Blue Springs
Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Suggested donation, $2.50 for seniors and those who are disabled, $3.75 for those under 60. Make reservations five working days in advance, 816-228-0181.
Monday: Chicken/rice, carrots, tossed salad, peanut butter cookie.
Tuesday: Sliced ham, hash brown casserole, mixed vegetables, pear halves.
Wednesday: Fish nuggets, macaroni/cheese, vegetable casserole, Ambrosia salad.
Thursday: Sloppy Joe, Mexican corn, green beans, strawberries/bananas.
Friday: Vesper’s birthday – Grilled chicken breast, southern potato salad, mandarin orange salad, ice cream sundaes.
