Christmas is coming, like it or not, and you need to get your friend or family member a great gift. Not the bath set gift or the socks with flashing lights gift; a gift that will mean a lot to them for years to come. Photographs make good gifts, especially photos of loved ones like kids and pets.

Animals Best Friends is coming to the rescue to solve your gift problem. What would be a better gift than a photo of your children and pets with Santa Claus, or your entire family with Santa?

ABF volunteers will be taking photos of pets and kids with Santa the first three weekends in December. Santa Photos will be at the Independence PetSmart, 4010 S Bolger Road, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Participants will receive a 4x6-inch digital color photo in a frame. The cost is $10.95 ($9.95 with a Pet Perks Card) per photo. PetSmart Charities gives Animals Best Friends $5 for each photo taken.

Props like scarves and antlers will be available for pets to wear for the photo, but you are welcome to deck yourself and your pet out as you please for the photo.

So bring your cat, dog, rabbit, parrot or whatever companion animal you have to PetSmart, along with your friends and family, for photos with Santa. It is a good way to start off the Christmas season.
