FEB. 28: Missouri Department of Conservation Hunter Education Class – 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Burr Oak Woods Nature Center in Blue Springs. Jake Jacoby is the instructor. Students must be age 11 or older. Pre-register by calling 816-655-6250.
MARCH 1: Trout Parks Season Opens – The trout parks fishing season opens in Missouri at the state’s trout facilities and runs through Oct. 31. There is a creel limit of four and a possession limit of eight. For regulations, see the Missouri Wildlife Code online at www.mdc.mo.gov/seasons/.
MARCH 3: Discover Nature Families: Wildlife Rehabilitation – 6-7 p.m. for families with children ages 7 and older at Burr Oak Woods Conservation Area in Blue Springs. Meet at the Lakeside Nature Center for a behind-the-scenes tour of the animal rehab program. Call 816-228-3766 to register. Space is limited.
MARCH 3, 4 & 5: Missouri Department of Conservation Hunter Education Class – 6-9:30 p.m. each day at George Owens Nature Center in Independence. Dan Laitner is the instructor. Students must be age 11 or older. Pre-register by calling 816-325-7370. Students must attend all three sessions to qualify.

MARCH 14: Discover Nature Women: Backpacking Workshop – 1-4 p.m. for women ages 18 and older and girls ages 14-17 who are accompanied by an adult at Burr Oak Woods Conservation Area in Blue Springs. Learn basic for your next hiking and camping experience. Call 816-228-3766 to register.

MARCH 21: Missouri Department of Conservation Hunter Education Class – 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Metropolitan Community College-Longview in Lee’s Summit. There is a $5 building use fee per student.
