  • Graceland University will host a benefit auction Thursday to raise money for scholarships.
It’s the third Annual Gleazer School of Education/Agricultural Business Scholarship Auction. The event is at Graceland’s Independence campus, 1401 W. Truman Road.
It starts with a silent auction and heavy hor d’oeuvres at 6 p.m., and a live auction begins at 7 p.m. Proceeds fund scholarships for Graceland’s Education and Agricultural Business students.
This year’s theme, World of Opportunities, reflects on the students’ desire to contribute to the global community.
The auctioneer is former Iowa Congressman and Graceland alumnus, Leonard Boswell.
Auction items range from Kansas City Royals tickets to fresh lamb to Graceland apparel. The top prize is six nights, free lodging at “Castle Cliff” on the Lake of the Ozarks. Auction items can be viewed online at Graceland.edu/AgEdBenefitAuction.
RSVP by contacting Debbi Leialoha at leialoha@graceland.edu or 816-588-6656. The event is $20 (for heavy hors’ devourers).
