  • Lee's Summit bowling teams qualify for state

  • The school-sponsored bowling teams at Lee's Summit North and Lee’s Summit high schools recently qualified for the Missouri State Bowling Tournament, which is May 25 in St. Joseph, Mo. This is the third consecutive year that both high schools have qualified for the state competition.

  • The school-sponsored bowling teams at Lee's Summit North and Lee’s Summit high schools recently qualified for the Missouri State Bowling Tournament, which is May 25 in St. Joseph, Mo. This is the third consecutive year that both high schools have qualified for the state competition.
    Both teams qualified at the Northwest Zone Missouri Bowling Proprietors Association (BPA) High School Bowling Club tournament April 14. At the St. Joseph competition, Lee's Summit North placed fourth, averaging 191 with a high game of 257. Lee’s Summit High School placed third, averaging 199 for 15 games with a high game of 253.
    The two high schools will be competing for a portion of $10,000 in scholarship money at state, which includes only 24 teams. At state, teams bowl 24 Baker games to determine the winners.
