  • Independence police are still seeking information in the theft of three ATVs from the Bass Pro Shops in early May.
Police were called to Bass Pro just before 1 a.m. May 3 in reference to the theft of the three ATVs, which had been secured with cables.
Police say three men were involved in the theft. Two apparently cut the cables and loaded the ATVs onto a trailer while a third suspect waited inside a truck. One of the suspect vehicles is described as a dark-colored SUV. The other vehicle is described as a dark-colored GM crew cab pickup truck pulling a 16- to 18-foot trailer.
The ATVs stolen were a black 2011 Arctic ATV 366SE, a camo-design 2011 Arctic ATV 700 EFI and a green 2012 Arctic ATV 550I (see photos). Each of the ATVs had snow blade attachments.
Police ask anyone with information about the crime, the suspects or the vehicles involved to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477), the Independence Police Department at 816-836-3600 or Sgt. Mike Onka at 816-325-7395.
