  • The Truman boys basketball team rebounded from a one-point loss to Ruskin on earlier in the week by scoring a 63-51 Suburban Middle Six road win over Park Hill on Friday.
    Zane Rader scored 17 points to lead Truman (12-7, 2-2 conference) while Lane Titus added 13.
    “Zane made some plays that helped us,” Truman coach Billy Guinnee said.
    BLUE SPRINGS 72, LIBERTY 62: With four players scoring in double figures, the host Wildcats were able to post their first Suburban Big Six victory Friday.
    Junior Cody Isabel led the way with 18 points. Jay Corwin added 16 and Walter Sorrells and Justin Pruitt 11 each.
    “We had our backs against the wall with three conference losses and the kids came out and competed well,” Blue Springs coach Adam Jones said.
    “I was proud of our defensive effort overall.”
    Blue Springs (11-8, 1-3) led 32-28 at halftime.
    PEMBROKE HILL 52, GRAIN VALLEY 40: A poor third quarter cost visiting Grain Valley Friday night.
    “Our defensive intensity wasn’t what it was in the first half,” coach Andy Herbert said as the Eagles were outscored 23-7 in the quarter.
    Pembroke Hill led 19-17 at halftime.
    Hunter Rader led the Eagles (5-13) with 13 points, Daniel Mahurin added 12 and Jordan Mahurin finished with seven.
