St. Teresa’s used four Chrisman errors for a 5-4 bronze bracket victory Wednesday at Adair Park in the Greater Kansas City Softball Invitational.

“We played better,” Chrisman coach Lindsey Ramsey said. “We are working on being aggressive on the bases”

Merina Thomas singled and doubled for two of the three hits for Chrisman (0-3), which rallied for three runs in the fourth inning to come to within 5-4.

SMITHVILLE 8, FORT OSAGE 4: A nine-hit attack wasn’t enough for Fort Osage to defeat Smithville in a Bronze Bracket game.

“We out hit them (9-5),” Fort Osage coach Kelly Sullivan said. “We have to get our defense behind us.”

Fort Osage trailed only 5-4 after three innings. A run in the fourth and two in the sixth sealed the Smithville victory.

Katy Divers was the losing pitcher. Mercedes Merriott doubled and tripled with one RBI. Kenzi and Brittany Weir each doubled.

Chrisman and Fort Osage each play two games today.
