The Blue Springs South girls soccer team’s three seniors all made their mark on a memorable Senior Night.

The Jaguars collected their fourth win in a row by downing Raymore-Peculiar 1-0 in Monday’s Suburban Big Six Conference match at Blue Springs South High School. Senior Maddy Chappell scored the game’s only goal in the 68th minute off an assist from Sarah Smedley. Senior Beth Landon helped set up the play by finding Smedley with a crisp pass before she set up Chappell. And senior goalkeeper Kylie Young helped the Jags (8-4-1, 3-3 conference) register their eighth shutout of the season.

“It was just a great result,” South coach Todd Findley said. “The girls persevered and played hard.”

PARK HILL 9, TRUMAN 0: The Patriots fell to 1-11 and 1-6 in Suburban Middle Six Conference play with the loss Monday at home. Maggie Lanham scored three goals to lift Park Hill.

"We made too many mistakes and let the game get away," Truman coach Jared Byrne said. "Many of the girls continued to battle all game, though, and I'm proud of them."
